Little has been heard from the Defense Security Command on their battle against the New Red Army terrorist group as of late, primarily due to a lack of progress. Recently however, that silence was broken when Colonel Lim Yong Nam of the DSC Public Affairs Office held a press conference at Camp Kim in Seoul telling reporters: “Today we will be revealing the location of the New Red Army base in Samcheok, Gangwon province.”
The New Red Army is an organization that was formed by former members of the Baekma Valley Alliance after their leader Jeon Tae Pyung fled to China following his assassination attempt on President Graham. The group seeks to undermine Korean authority and recently showed signs of their resolve when they detonated an explosive device near the Chinese embassy in Pyongyang. The Baekma Valley Alliance is a paramilitary group that traces its roots back to the Korean War participating extensively with United Nations forces, and has been battling against North Korean aggression ever since. Most recently, they were involved in defending Paju from North Korean forces. The group is led by CEO Jeon Tae Pyung of the pharmaceutical company, Baekma Pharmatech.

Colonel Lim has reported that the base was abandoned three months ago by the New Red Army, after they were made aware of surveillance conducted by US and Korean forces. The DSC believes however that this is not the end of their activities in the area. “We believe they are preparing another attack somewhere else in Korea. We expect them to reside in the east of Pyeongchang.”
It is believed that the New Red Army base was abandoned after a group of hikers recently stumbled upon it. “We believe they were aware of surveillance so they left,” says Lim. The base, located in neighboring Gangwon province, was discovered last week by an exploration team who happened to stumble upon it while hiking in the area. Although it had been abandoned, they were able to find significant amounts of equipment left behind. Most importantly, proof that the base was indeed run by the New Red Army. “New recruits must be trained in terrorist tactics and given proper equipment before taking part in missions,” says Lim, “which is precisely what we were able to confirm.”
What is Fish Tales?
Fish Tales is a television program that was created by the DSC headed by Colonel Lim Yong Nam. It tells the story of “fish” who are told to go out into the ocean for training. Each fish is taught how to survive in different situations, depending on which family of fish they are. Once their training is complete, each of the members who go through this program return home to kill off “sharks” (a metaphor for North Koreans) and reclaim their home.
Why has it been lost at sea?
The show was first created around 2012-2013 before President Graham ever took office. Before they were able to produce more episodes, they lost most of their funding and could no longer continue the show. Fish Tales has been considered a flop due to the lack of viewers because it was not advertised enough before it first aired. Now that Graham is president, Colonel Lim thought this would be a good idea to advertise once again so people can watch and learn about Fish Tales.
How is it finally making its way back to shore?
Colonel Lim said that he wants the show to return to Korea and advertise once again because President Graham has taken office and declared war against North Korea. Because of this, he hopes people will be interested in watching. The DSC was able to find a company that can help them out with the distribution of Fish Tales, which would be one of the few ways they are able to create more episodes for their show.
Who is filming these events?
The DSC will be making short videos where Colonel Lim will talk about recent events and how it relates to their television program, “Fish Tales.”
Conclusion
The show was originally taken off air due to lack of funding, but since the DSC found a partner company that will help with distribution, they are able to continue producing episodes.
