Explore the Galar region… and beyond!
The latest title in the Pokémon series takes you on a whole new adventure! In Pokémon Sword, players will explore a brand-new land—Galar—with their starter Pokémon by their side. The action-adventure game gives details about being a Trainer for the first time from picking a starter Pokémon and riding your trusty steed, Stoutland, to evolving and devolving your Pokémon.
The Galar region is made up of several different cities! Each city has its own characteristics! Travel around the region and explore cities with special landmarks like the seaside Sylpylia Town, the mysterious Abandoned Castle or snowy Frost Cavern!
Through the large, interconnected roads of Galar, players will be able to easily access areas that were previously inaccessible in previous games. In addition to all this, past Fairy-type Pokémon like Jigglypuff and Marill are making a return due to Galar’s unique qualities!
And of course… legendary Pokémon will be making an appearance!
Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield will be compatible with Pokémon Bank! All Pokémon caught in these games can be sent to Pokémon Bank, where they will have the ability to travel into Pokémon Let’s Go Pikachu & Eevee or future titles!
Don’t forget that you’ll need a Nintendo Switch Online membership to access online multiplayer!
Enjoy the post-game content
Pokémon Sword & Shield will have a huge post-game component that is very similar to Sun and Moon! A new area called the “Wild Area” acts as an extension of Galar, so it’s possible to continue exploring after the main storyline has been completed.
In addition to this, players can catch even more Pokémon in this new “Wild Area”! All Pokémon that reside in the Wild Area will be different and more varied than those found throughout the Galar region.
Challenge new and familiar bosses
Pokémon Sword & Shield’s post-game content will feature challenging new bosses! These fights take place after you’ve completed the main story, so don’t underestimate them! Similar to Pokémon Sun and Moon, you’ll also be able to battle and catch bosses like Deoxys, Black Kyurem, and Zekrom! Be sure to look forward to the post-game content when you preorder your copy of Pokemon Sword & Shield on November 15th! The adventure never stops with this new game!
There are many side quests that can only be unlocked post-game. These include challenging fights with legendary pokemon that have never been seen before, as well as a new region known as the “Wild Area” that extends beyond Galar and all of its cities.
Once you’ve completed the main storyline, you’ll be able to challenge and catch Deoxys, Black Kyurem and Zekrom. The adventure never stops with this new game!
