I manage to get my hands on a Roborock S55 (2nd edition) in October, when it was not available in stores yet. But now I can buy it online or even see it at the local shopping mall! So many people are talking about its great performance and amazing features for this price tag. And they are correct with their remarks! It has a stronger suction power and it is able to sweep, mop (and monitor) with such accuracy. I can touch on this in one of my next articles.
So here’s the thing: How do you clean Roborock S55 when it gets dirty? I was using it for almost 3 months and I was amazed at how it handled everyday messes. The dustbin filled with debris wasn’t so big, but the cleaning brush looked like after every run. It was covered in hair and pieces of paper or anything Roborock sucked up by accident.

The brush cleaning is a piece of cake! First, you take off the dustbin. Then you hold the machine from the wheel and pull the brush out. It will stop spinning until you push it back in place or take it out completely. That’s all! You can wipe it with some wet wipes to remove any debris stuck between two rows of bristles.
How to clean roborock wheels and side brushes
The main thing is how to clean rubber pads/wheels and the long brush that comes out from underneath it. To do this, first you need to take off the dustbin as well as the protective cover on top of the dust bin (if there is any). You tug at the plastic and pull it towards yourself.
The cleaning brush is attached to the removable sticky rubber pads
All you need to remove them from their places is to press on their sides and lift up. They’ll come out very easily, but make sure you don’t bend or break them. These flexible rubber pieces are very sensitive.
The short brush is attached to the wheel that turns around spinning all the time. It catches hair, dust, dirt and makes this mess bigger. It’s recommended to clean it after every run.
How to keep your Roborock clean
To clean the wheel, you need to take it out from underneath. Every wheel is connected to the device with a metal rod and a rubber pad on top of it. You can twist them off easily by hand or with help of pliers.
Next thing is how to get it back in its place. For this purpose I’ll give you a simple tip. You should place the wheel on top of Roborock and once again turn it by hand until you hear a click. The metal rod and rubber pad will fit in their places and keep your robot vacuum cleaner dust-free.
The side brush is like a long, thin comb to sweep dirt from corners or along walls towards the centre of the room. It’s not so easy to remove it, but you can do it if you take off the protective cover and pull on both sides:
Once it comes out completely, you can clean all debris in between its rows or put it back in place by pushing one side in first and then the other. Repeat this step until you hear a click sound. The brush will stay where it belongs!
Conclusion
It’s so easy to keep your Roborock clean! All you need is a wet wipe or damp cloth, that will do the job quickly. You should not use any liquids other than water. Never forget to take out the dustbin before using damped wipes inside it, otherwise they’ll get stuck in between two rows of bristles and stop the robotic vacuum cleaner from working.
