– The myQ Gateway attaches easily to the outside of your garage door opener motor head and is powered by a standard low voltage wire connection. It pairs with the free myQ app on iOS8, Android 4.3 and Bluetooth Smart Ready (LE) devices so you can monitor and control your garage door from your smartphone or tablet.
– The myQ app walks you through the quick installation process and works with existing Chamberlain or LiftMaster openers manufactured after 1993 (please see Specifications for compatibility). Once installed, you can open and close your garage door, set schedules, send e-mail or instant messages to family members when the garage door is open or closed, and receive alerts if there’s water leaking in the garage.
Myq says open when closed? Why?
myQ is an open/close sensor that replaces the current sensors in your existing garage door opener system. When mounted in the bracket, it tells the hub to say “open” when it detects an open condition and “closed” when closed. The myq gateway has a light ring on it which does flash green for open and red for closed.
When the light ring is red, what does it mean? When the light ring on your myQ gateway is flashing red , it means that there’s a communication issue between the myQ app and your smart hub. This could be due to any number of reasons including an obstruction between your phone or tablet and the garage door opener system, low batteries or a faulty internet connection.
What does the “error” light mean on myq gateway? If your myQ gateway has an error light , it means you have a power issue with the hub if the red light is steady and not flashing, or a connection issue if the red light is flashing.
